O R D E R
This contempt petition has been filed to initiate contempt proceedings against the respondents for their wilful disobedience of the order of this Court, dated 18.10.2019 in W.P(MD).No.5508 of 2019.
2. This Court, by an order dated 18.10.2019, in W.P(MD).No.5508 of 2019, directed the respondents herein to initiate disciplinary proceedings as against the erring police officials and also directed them to pay a sum of Rs.50,000/- as cost to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
3. The learned Government Advocate filed a typed set of papers and would submit that a sum of Rs.50,000/- has been paid by way of Demand Draft to the petitioner, dated 21.11.2020 and the same was duly acknowledged by the petitioner, on 21.11.2020. In so far as the other direction in respect of the departmental disciplinary proceedings is concerned the Department has initiated disciplinary proceedings as against the erring police officials namely, the respondents 5 to 7 in tW.P.(MD)No.5508 of 2019 viz., Mrs.Anitha, Inspector of Police, transferred to Sekkanurani police station, Madurai, Mrs.S.Deepa, Inspector of Police, transferred to Keelathooval Police Station, Ramanathapuram District and Mrs.Krishnaveni, Grade-I police constable -431, C4, Thilagar Thidal (L&O) police station, Madurai, have been issued charge memos, dated 12.11.2020.
