Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pass final orders in the seigniorage proceedings in Na.Ka.No.A5/2477/2016 and consequently, direct the first respondent to issue order for renewal of quarry lease in the patta land in Survey No.471/1A over an extent of 2.43.0 hectare situated at Vagaikulam, Tirunelveli Taluk and District.

Heard the learned counsel on either side. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner was granted quarry lease way back in the year 2001 and it was also subsequently renewed. 3.Certain allegations were made against the petitioner in respect of his quarrying operations.

2 W.P.(MD)No.10082 of 2020 regards the conducting of the quarrying operations was given by the local authorities. Hence, the petitioner had to file more than one writ petition before this Court and on both occasions, the petitioner succeeded. However, the matter is still pending before the first respondent. The petitioner has assigned certain reasons for the pendency.

5.I do not want to go in to the same. All that I would direct is that the first respondent should dispose of the petition mentioned proceedings and pass final orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. 6.The Writ Petition is disposed of on these terms. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
