ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd and 4th respondents to provide police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her family members on the basis of her complaint dated 02.06.2016.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondents.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that she preferred a complaint against one Poojari. Pursuant to which, a case has been registered in Crime No.283 of 2016 under Sections 294(b), 506(i) IPC and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act. It is her case that despite the case has been registered, harassment at the hands of the accused person continues and therefore, she gave a representation to the respondents seeking police protection. considered by the respondents herein, the petitioner is before this Court with this petition.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that two cases are pending against the petitioner herein.
5. Pendency of the case against the petitioner herein is yet another matter to be looked into. However, the issue to be considered herein is as to whether the petitioner is to be given police protection or not. The learned Government Advocate would submit that any Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, may be directed to consider the the grievances of the petitioner and affording police protection to the petitioner herein.
6. Under such circumstances, the petitioner is directed to give a representation to the Inspector of police, All Women Police Station, Tallakulam, Madurai, by 17.06.2016. On receipt of the same, the Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Tallakulam, Madurai, is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.
With the above direction, this petition is disposed of.
