PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct the "Aadal Padal" festival on 11.07.2018 at the time from 08.00 a.m to 12.00 a.m such as "Arulmigu Sri Kannan Kovil" is situated at Ponthampuli, Rameshwaram, Ramanathapuram District and further direct the respondent to give permission and adequate police protection for the above said programme by considering the petitioner's representation dated 04.07.2018.

This writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct the "Aadal Padal" festival on 11.07.2018 at the time from 08.00 a.m to 12.00 a.m such as "Arulmigu Sri Kannan Kovil" is situated at Ponthampuli, Rameshwaram, Ramanathapuram District and further direct the respondent to give permission and adequate police protection for the above said programme by considering the petitioner's representation dated 04.07.2018.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation was rejected by the second respondent police on 07.07.2018.

4.Recording the above said submission, this Writ petition is dismissed. It is open to the petitioner to challenge the rejection order, if so advised. No costs.
