Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 21.04.2025, forwarded by the 2nd respondent vide letter dated 18.07.2025, on the basis of the workload inspection conducted by the 2nd respondent in the petitioner's college and to permit the petitioner to fill up the vacancies in the sanctioned post within such time as may be stipulated by this Court and consequently approve the appointments made thereto.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 21.04.2025, forwarded by the 2nd respondent vide letter dated 18.07.2025 on the basis of the workload inspection conducted by the 2nd respondent in the petitioner's college and to permit the petitioner to fill up the vacancies in the sanctioned posts and approve the appointments made thereto.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner herein is a College, which has made a request for grant of prior permission for filling up of vacancies in the sanctioned posts existing in the petitioner's college.

4. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the said request was considered by the second respondent and after conducting necessary inspection, the second respondent submitted a proposal to the first 2/5

respondent through proceedings in Na.Ka.No.4071/E3/2026, dated 18.07.2025. Inspite of the said proposal submitted by the second respondent during the month of July 2025, the first respondent is yet to take any action. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing this Writ Petition.

5. This matter earlier came up before this Court on 27.03.2026 and the same was adjourned enabling the respondents to file counter. However, as on date, no counter has been filed.

6. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that if appropriate directions are issued to take necessary action on the proposal of the second respondent dated 18.07.2025, the grievance of the petitioner would stand redressed.

7. In response to the same, the learned counsel for State of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents submitted that the first respondent would take appropriate action on the proposal submitted by the second respondent dated 18.07.2025.

8. In light of the same, without going into the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to consider the proposal of the second respondent dated 18.07.2025 and pass necessary orders either granting approval or otherwise as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
