This Writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission and police protection to conduct the "Bullock Cart Race" event scheduled to be held on 26.07.2018 at 6.00 a.m. "Temple Festival in Ayyan Sri Sengamalai Udaiyar Shastha, Sri Pechiamman Temples" at Nanguneri Post, Thirunelveli District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 30.06.2018.

2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has submitted a representation to the Superintendent of Police. Since no order has been passed, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that the said representation would be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

4. In the light of the above submission, without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court directs the respondent to consider

the petitioner's representation dated 30.06.2018 on merits and in accordance with law,on or before 20.07.2018, after affording opportunity to the parties concerned.
