C O M M O N O R D E R The petitioners /accused in STC Nos.1991 and 1694 of 2024, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Thirumangalam have moved these petitions to quash the above proceedings pending as against them, on the ground of compromise.
2.The case of the prosecution is that due to previous enmity, the petitioners have threatened the defacto complainant with dire consequences. They have intimidated the defacto complainant not to depose before the trial Court as against them. 3.Now they have moved these petitions that the issue has been amicably settled with the defacto complainant and therefore, the cases pending as against the petitioners in STC Nos.1991 and 1694 of 2024 have to be quashed, on the ground of compromise. It is also reported that the first petitioner is a practicing Advocate. 4.Considering the allegations as against these petitioners and considering that the first petitioner, being a practicing Advocate has went 3/5
to an extent of intimidating the witnesses not to depose before the Court, this Court is not inclined to quash the above proceedings on the ground of compromise.
