Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to provide adequate police protection to conduct the Pookuzhi Erankuthal function scheduled on 10.03.2015 at Arulmigu Mariamman Thirukovil, Natham Town, Dindigul District.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to provide adequate police protection to conduct the Pookuzhi Erankuthal function scheduled on 10.03.2015 at Arulmigu Mariamman Thirukovil, Natham Town, Dindigul District. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

When the matter is taken-up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate produced a copy of the proceedings dated 12.02.2015, in and by which, already a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted in the presence of the Tahsildar concerned between two fraction of groups of the village concerned, wherein, an agreement has been entered into between the parties. As per the said agreement, the Executive Officer of the concerned temple will alone publish the invitation and both sides will abide by the proceedings dated 12.02.2015 in order to have a smooth conducting of the temple festival, for which, the police also will give necessary protection.

Therefore, the present Writ Petition is dismissed by recording the proceedings of the Tahsildar concerned dated 12.02.2015. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
