ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned proceedings in Ka.No.ENiPo/ViNi/NaPu/ Thachchai/Ko.2/A.No. /2024 dated 27.02.2025 on the file of the respondent and also to direct the respondent to restore the agriculture electricity service connection in Service No. 007-021-44 to petitioner's agriculture lands bearing in Survey Nos. 74/1, 74/4, 74/5 situated at Kattampuli, Rajavillipuram Village, Tirunelveli Taluk, Tirunelveli District, within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is disposed at the stage of admission itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner has been using the electricity service connection of the respondent board for his lands, for the past ten years. Due to electrocution of one Raja, who died near the EB room 2/6

of the petitioner's agricultural field, the respondent, without issuing any notice to the petitioner, straight away disconnected the electricity service connection vide the impugned order dated 27.02.2025. Challenging the same, this writ petition has been filed.

The learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent stated that there is an illegal fencing around the petitioner's agricultural field, which is in violation of Section 138 of the Electricity Act and therefore, the respondent disconnected the electricity service connection of the petitioner's lands. The petitioner can approach the consumer grievance redressal forum seeking for the relief sought for by the petitioner.

Considering the facts and circumstances of this case and also recording the submission made by the learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to approach the consumer grievance redressal forum seeking the relief sought for by the petitioner and if any such representation is filed by the petitioner, appropriate orders shall be passed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the petitioner's representation. 3/6

6. With the above observations and directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
