2. The impugned communication calling upon the petitioner to remove the encroachment in question is quashed on the only ground that it was not preceded by show cause notice. The matter is remanded to the respondent. The respondent shall issue notice to the writ petitioner and thereafter, take action in accordance with law. With the aforesaid liberty, this writ petition stands allowed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
