The petitioner has filed this writ petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to take the petitioner's appeal dated 21.04.2023, on file and dispose of the same.
2. Heard Mr.Aayiram K.Selvakumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Shanmugavel, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
4. The petitioner was originally appointed as Junior Assistant and subsequently he was promoted as Assistant in the year 2009. He is eligible to be included in the promotion panel for the years 2004 - 2018. 2/5
But his name was not included in the revised panel of Deputy Tahsildar, dated 21.03.2023. Hence, he preferred an appeal before the second respondent on 21.04.2023. Since the said appeal has not been disposed of so far, the present writ petition has been filed.
5. In view of the said reason, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner, dated 21.04.2023, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
