PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No. 584 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The respondent police registered a case as against this petitioner in Crime 1/3

No.584 of 2023 for the offence under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(c) 25 and 29(1) of N.D.P.S. Act, 1985, and remanded her into judicial custody on 29.08.2023. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this petition seeking bail.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner does not have any bad antecedents. He further submits that the petitioner is in jail for more than 240 days and the respondent police has not filed any final report. Earlier, this Court, by order dated 24.04.2024, has directed the respondent police to file a report as to the reasons for not filing the final report within the stipulate time.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submits that the final report has already been filed before the concerned Court on 24.02.2024 well within the time and the same is also taken on file as C.C.No.62 of 2024, which is pending before the file of the NDPS Court, Madurai. He further submits that the petitioner is the wife of the first accused and she was also arrested with the possession of contraband.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the fact that the petitioner was arrested with the possession of contraband, this Court is not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner. 2/3
