O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to call for the records in C.C.No.200 of 2016 pending on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Kovilpatti and quash the same against the petitioner concerned. The offences alleged are 498A, 294(b), 506(i) IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition and Harassment of Women's Act.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent.

3. The petitioner is staying at America and he appeared before this Court through Video-Conferencing, he was identified by the learned counsel for the petitioner. Similarly, the defacto https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.8653 of 2021 complainant/second respondent herein namely Preetha Mahesh also appeared before this Court through Video-Conferencing and she was identified by the learned counsel for the defacto complainant.

4. On going through the Joint Memo of Compromise filed by the petitioner as well as the second respondent, it is seen that the matter has been settled between them. Now, the defacto complainant/second respondent is ready to join with the petitioner in America. It is also confirmed by this Court, during enquiry.

5. In view of the above, nothing survives for further adjudication in the petition. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed and the proceeding in C.C.No.200 of 2016 pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Kovilpatti stands quashed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
