ORDER

Seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to conduct enquiry and take action on the basis of the petitioner's complaint dated 11.03.2026, this writ petition is filed.

2. Since no adverse order is passed against the 3rd respondent, notice to the 3rd respondent is dispensed with.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a senior citizen / widow living with her widowed daughter. She has been dispossessed from her property by her daughter in law, who is the 3rd respondent herein. In this regard, she had given a complaint on 11.03.2026, which is not considered by the respondent police. Hence, this petition. 2/5

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the question of considering and taking action against the 3rd respondent of this nature will not arise and the remedy for the petitioner lies before the jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer by making a suitable application under The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

6. The Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruchirappalli District, Tiruchirappalli is suo motu impleaded as 4th respondent. Considering the age of the petitioner and the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner cannot even move and make an application before the 4th respondent, the petitioner's daughter namely Rathna is directed to make an application before the 4th respondent forthwith. On receipt of the same, the 4th respondent is directed to dispose of the same by putting the 3rd respondent on notice to appear before him on 27.04.2026 and dispose of the same by 30.04.2026.

7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
