Heard, the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.K.Jagadeesh Balan, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Nos.1 & 2 and Mr.S.C.Herold Singh, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Respondent No.3 and carefully perused the materials available on record.
2. The petitioner is working as a Driver in the respondent Transport Corporation since 1992. In his service register, his wife's name is recorded wrongly as ''Arulmani'' instead of ''Arulmozhi'' as his nominee. Requesting for correction of the name of his wife in the service register, he made a representation on 26.02.2025 to the respondents. The petitioner is going to 2/6
retire in the month of May 2025. But, his representation was not considered by the respondents. Against the in action of the respondents, he is constrained to file the present writ petition.
3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submits that the representation of the petitioner will be considered within the time to be stipulated herein in accordance with law.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court intends to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself and with the consent of both side parties, with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.02.2025, and make necessary corrections in his service register, based on the supporting documents submitted by the petitioner within the time to be stipulated herein in the interest of justice.
5. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.02.2025 to correct the name of the petitioner's wife in his service records as his nominee, basing on the supporting documents submitted by the petitioner, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6
There shall be no order as to costs.
