ORDER

The Contempt Petition has been filed, invoking Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, seeking orders to punish the contemnor/ respondent herein for the deliberate and willful disobedience of the order of this Court in W.P(MD) No.9422 of 2021, dated 17.10.2023.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India would submit that the respondent has sent e-mail stating that they have already sent a reply, dated 24.01.2021 to the petitioner informing that the passport No.M8507166 valid upto 20.09.2025 issued in the name of Murugesan is under the custody of Passport Office, Madurai and till date no further passport service was rendered to Thiru.C.Sethumani and also added in the reply of this office; that the matter has also been taken up with the Superintendent of Police, Sivagangai District to investigate and to take necessary action against the said Sethumani.

3. As rightly contended by the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, it is only for the Superintendent of Police, Sivagangai District, to proceed further.
