This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.05.2023 to issue assignment patta in favour of the petitioner in S.No. 166/2014, situated at Chinna Chittulotti, Jari Usilampatti post, Peraiyur taluk, Madurai District.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the third respondent would conduct and conclude the inquiry after putting the petitioner and all other necessary parties on notice and would pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to conduct and conclude the inquiry on merits and in accordance with law after providing an opportunity to the petitioner and all the necessary parties and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
