ORDER

The petitioner seeks for the following relief : ''Writ of certiorarified mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the impugned refusal check slip issued by the 3rd respondent in Check Slip No.40/2025, dated 22.03.2025, and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondent to register the Settlement Deed, dated 21.03.2025, executed by the petitioner in respect of the land in No.258/6, Kalayarkovil Village, Somanathamangalam Group, Kalayarkovil Taluk, Sivagangai District.''

2. The ground for rejection of the document of the petitioner is that her sister Muthammal had executed a document for the very same property. Double entry, as a ground for refusal, is unknown to the Registration Act,1908, and the Rules made thereunder. The issue has been settled by a judgment of this Court in T.Senthilvel v. The District Registrar (Administration), in W.P.(MD) No.22114 of 2024, dated 17.10.2024.

3. Following the above said judgment, this Writ Petition is allowed and the impugned order is quashed. There shall be a direction to the third respondent to register the settlement deed executed by the petitioner in favour of her son within a period of two weeks from the date of uploading of this order on to the website of this Court. No costs. Consequently, the connected W.M.P.(MD) No.7546 of 2025 is closed.
