The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction to the respondents 3 to 5 to consider the 2/6

representation of the petitioner dated 24.07.2022. By that representation, the petitioner had sought grant of electricity connection for the house at Door No.166A, Pudukiramam Street, Narayanapuram, Sivagiri Taluk, Tenkasi District, situated at Survey No.1537/6.

2. It had also been stated that other houses in that particular area had been granted with electricity connection.

3. A direction is given to the fifth respondent, Assistant Executive Engineer, TANGEDCO, Vasudevanallur, Sivagiri Taluk, to issue notice to the petitioner herein and examine possession of the petitioner. The learned counsel for the petitioner had produced house tax receipts, which naturally indicate that he had put up a house and that he is in possession of the house and that the house has been assessed to tax. If the petitioner is in possession, let necessary undertaking be obtained and also if required, an indemnity bond that only electricity connection alone will be sought by the petitioner herein and not about any other issue. After getting necessary indemnity bond or undertaking, the fifth respondent may proceed to grant electricity connection. The 3/6

entire exercise must be completed within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
