Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and grant old age pension based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.12.2019 under Indira Gandhi Old Age Pension Scheme to the petitioner.

O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner is a senior citizen. She seeks old age pension under Indira Gandhi Old Age Pension Scheme. The petitioner had given a request on 02.12.2019. But her husband had passed away on 20.05.2017.

3. The matter was listed today and it was passed it over to enable the learned Additional Government Pleader to get instructions. The second respondent had done a quick enquiry and he confirms the eligibility of the petitioner herein to receive the said pension.

4. The respondents are directed to grant old age pension to the petitioner herein. Since the application was given as early as on 02.12.2019, the pension will be paid to the petitioner with effect from January 2020 onwards. Of course due to the current pandemic times, the respondents are given four weeks time to comply with the Court's directions.

5. This writ petition stands allowed on these terms. No costs.
