ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to disburse the drought relief amount of Rs.43,620/- to the petitioner with interest based upon the petitioner's representation, dated 21.02.2014 within a stipulated time.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the property in patta Nos.1398, 1400 and 1401 situated at Ettayapuram, Thoothukudi District belongs to his father. After demise of his parents, he and his brother are in possession and enjoyment of the property without partition. For the past ten years the petitioner is doing agriculture in the said patta lands.

In the year 2013-2014, he borrowed a loan for doing agriculture in the above said patta lands. Due to monsoon failure, he suffered huge loss. The Tamil Nadu Government announced drought relief amount to all the agriculturists, who suffered loss, as per G.O.Ms.No.123 Revenue Department(P.M.3(1), dated 25.04.2013. Based on that, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents requesting https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

to give drought relief amount of Rs.43,626/-. But, in spite of that, the request of the petitioner was not considered so far. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court with the above said prayer.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4.Without going into the merits of the contentions raised by the petitioner in this writ petition, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 21.02.2014 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
