O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction to the respondents to pay a sum of Rs.25,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs only) as compensation and also give government job to the petitioner herein for the alleged offence of Section 302 IPC committed against the husband of the petitioner herein who died when he was an inmate as undertrial prisoner in the third respondent Prison.
2. It is stated that he died and subsequently, the investigation was handed over to CBCID. It is stated that an FIR had been registered against another inmate of the prison under Section 302 IPC. It is also 2/5
stated that the representation of the petitioner has been received by the respondents herein. Hence, a direction is issued to the respondents herein to consider the representation of the petitioner, obtain report from CBCID/Investigating Authority about the nature of the incident and thereafter, take a considered decision either on payment of compensation or providing a job to the petitioner. If required, notice may be issued to the petitioner herein by the second respondent/District Collector, relating to the representation given by the petitioner herein. At any rate, let an answer be given to the representation. The entire exercise must be completed within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
3. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
