PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to rectify the FMB Sketch (field measurement Book) in respect of Survey No.125/22E in Sooranam Revenue Village, Ilayankudi Taluk, Sivagangai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.10.2022 within a time frame stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to rectify the FMB Sketch (field measurement Book) in respect of Survey No. 125/22E in Sooranam Revenue Village, Ilayankudi Taluk, Sivagangai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.10.2022 within a time frame stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had purchased four cents of property in Survey No.125/22E through a sale deed 2/5

dated 24.10.2007, registered as Document No.917/2007, from one Manickam. However, the FMB sketch reflects a lesser extent of 214 square feet, and therefore, the petitioner seeks rectification of the same.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the competent authority is the Assistant Director of Survey, but the petitioner has also included the Joint Director of Survey.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's claim and rectify the mistake as per law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
