O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide adequate police protection to complete the repair work of the existing school building situated in RS.No.178/7B punja land, Mariamman Kovil Street, Sozhiavilagam, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District and to provide adequate protection to the life and limp of the worker.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is running a school at RS.No.178/7B punja land, Mariamman Kovil Street, Sozhiavilagam, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District. While so, he tried to do repairing works. However, the village people caused obstruction to conduct repair works. Therefore, he sent a representation to the respondents 1 and 2 on 07.01.2025 and the same 2/6

has not been considered. Hence, this petition. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that based on the representation of the petitioner, they have sent a request to the Tashildar, Thiruvidaimaruthur, Thanjavur District to conduct a peace committee meeting and the same is pending. Based on the resolution of the peace committee meeting, they will act in accordance with law.

4.In view of the above, this Court hereby suo-motu implead the Tahsildar, Thiruvidaimaruthur, Thanjavur District as the third respondent in this petition.

5.Today, the learned Government Advocate takes notice to the newly impeded Tahsildar and stated that he has no knowledge about the receipt of request made by the respondent police. However, if any request received from the respondent police, they will conduct a peace committee meeting and take appropriate decision in accordance with law within a period of 15 days.

6.Considering the prayer sought for by the petitioner, the representation of the petitioner was forwarded by the respondent police to the third respondent to conduct a peace committee meeting, therefore, it is for the third respondent to consider the same and conduct a peace committee meeting.

7.In view of the above, this Court hereby directs the third respondent to conduct a peace committee meeting after affording opportunity to both parties in accordance with law within a period of 15 days from the date of this order and thereafter, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to act in accordance with law, based on the resolution passed in the peace committee meeting.

8.With the above observations and direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
