Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to conduct a peace committee meeting under the supervision of the 4th respondent Tahsildar with participation of all concerned villagers, including the petitioner and respondents 6 to 17 and to consider and regulate the conduct of the proposed temple festival scheduled on 31.03.2026 and 01.04.2026 only after ensuring consensus among the villagers and compliance with law and order requirements and to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and other residents of Kottur Village, Devakottai Taluk, Sivagangai District to ensure their safety and prevent any untoward incident, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 24.03.2026 within the time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to conduct a peace committee meeting under the supervision of the 4th respondent Tahsildar with participation of all concerned villagers, including the petitioner and respondents 6 to 17 in the proposed temple festival of Kottur Village, Devakottai Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 24.03.2026 within the time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the private respondents has excommunicated the petitioner and his family from participating in the aforesaid temple festival scheduled on 31.03.2026 & 01.04.2026. Hence, this writ petition came to be filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials placed before this Court. Since no adverse order is proposed to be passed against the private respondents, notice to them is dispensed with.
4. The third respondent is directed to conduct a peace committee meeting on 30.03.2026 to ensure the participation of both the petitioner and the 3/6
private respondents, and also to ensure the peaceful conduct of the aforementioned temple festival without excommunicating any individuals, including the petitioner and his family.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 27.03.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No sm Note: Issue order copy on 27.03.2026.
