(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble the Chief Justice) Counsel for petitioner states that, by mistake, petitioner applied to Respondent No.6 for permission to conduct Vadamadu Manjuvirattu event to be held on 11.04.2025 as part of the festival in Srineruthamudaiya Ayyanar Thirukkovil Puravi Eduppu at Kilathari Village, Tiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District, whereas it should have been applied only to Respondent No.3. Counsel states that Respondent No.6, instead of directing the application to Respondent No. 3, has rejected, when he has no authority to even consider the application.
2. Shri P.Thilakkumar agrees that Respondent No.6 had no power and the application should have been made to Respondent No.3. Shri E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar concurs with the same.
3. Therefore, the order dated 03.04.2025 impugned in the petition passed by Respondent No.6 is quashed and set aside. Petitioner's counsel states that he shall apply to Respondent No.3 today itself for permission. Since the festival is scheduled to be held on 11th 3/6
April, 2025, Respondent No.3 is requested to consider the application immediately and take a decision, as he / she deems fit, in accordance with law. Respondent No.3 shall not await for this order to be uploaded and Mr.P.Thilakkumar's statement that he shall instruct Respondent No.3 by 2 o'clock is accepted.
