PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the concerned official respondents i. to take immediate and necessary actions against the illegal sand miners, who are engaged/engaging in illegal activities of excavating river sand in and around Manjalaaru River beds, situated within the limits of Dindigul District; and ii. to strictly abide and practically implement the various Government Orders (more particularly G.O.(Ms).No. 62 Home, Prohibition and Excise (XVI) Dept. dated 01.10.2018) and Various Guidelines, passed by the Government of Tamil Nadu from time to time, and the various orders/directions passed time and again in this regard by this Court respectively.
