By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. This writ petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to re issue the petitioner's passport, based on his passport application dated 17.12.2024 Ref No.TR1077216807124.
3. The petitioner has made an application in File No. TR1077216807124, seeking re-issuance of his passport. While so, on receipt 2/6
of adverse police verification report, the first respondent had issued a communication to the petitioner, requiring an explanation from the petitioner. Hence, the Writ Petition is filed, to direct the first respondent to issue the passport to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) appearing for the respondents 3 to 5, on instructions would submit that a case was registered against the petitioner and the petitioner has also been acquitted by the learned District Judge, Paramakudi, in S.C.No.18 of 2016. However, as against the same, the State preferred an appeal.
5. Heard the learned counsels on either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.
6. The respondents are hereby directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 17.12.2024 and pass appropriate orders, to re-issue passport, if he is otherwise eligible for the same, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6
7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
