This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to dispose the petitioner's appeal Petition No.8 of 2020 on the file of the 1st respondent, seeking enhancement of compensation for acquisition of the petitioner's dwelling house in Survey No.43/10B, Patta No.257 to an extent of 1650 sq.ft. situated at Nedunkollai Village, Manampadi, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District.

According to the petitioner, he has preferred an appeal before the first respondent seeking enhancement of compensation for acquisition of the dwelling house in Survey No.43/10B, Patta No.257 to an extent of 1650 sq.ft. situated at Nedunkollai Village, Manampadi, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District. Even though the first respondent has received the appeal in the year 2020, he has not taken any 2/5

steps to dispose of the same. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's appeal petition will be considered within a period of twelve weeks and appropriate orders will be passed.

4. Considering the prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to dispose of the appeal Petition No.8 of 2020, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
