O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to grant police protection to the petitioner for renovation of the temple, namely, Arulmighu Kasthuri Perumal Thirukoil, Singampatti Vadakku Kalam, Kadavur Taluk, Karur District.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents.

3. The case of the petitioner is that despite the undertaking letter given by the respondents 3 to 6 in the Peace Committee Meeting initiated by the Revenue Divisional Officer, they continue to cause disturbance to the renovation work being carried out by the petitioner, which necessitated the petitioner to approach this Court, seeking for police protection, on the basis of the representation dated 07.06.2016 given to the 2nd respondent.

4. Having regard to the limited scope of prayer sought for, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 07.06.2016 of the petitioner and take appropriate action in accordance with law, preferably within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order in the light of the decision taken in the Peace Committee Meeting. It is for the respondent police to take action in accordance with law in case of any hindrance on the side of the respondents 3 to 6.
