Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to take steps to conduct election for Rajapalayam Krishnama Rajapalayam Nadar Uravin Murai Sangam by appointing an Election Officer and to prevent the respondents 2 & 3 from taking any major decisions regarding the said Sangam and in respect of institutions run by the said Sangam.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent.

2.The case of the writ petitioner is that Rajapalayam Krishnama Rajapalayam Nadar Uravin Murai Sangam is a society registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975. The election to elect https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.10193 of 2020 the office bearers of the society was held in the year 2017 and that the period has come to an end on 16.04.2020. The petitioner alleges that that first respondent has not taken any step for ensuring that the society conducts its election.

3.I am afraid that the petitioner has not taken note of G.O.(Ms) No.89, dated 16.06.2020, whereby the tenure of the executive committee of such society has been extended till the year end. If even thereafter, no steps are taken, it is open to the petitioner herein to move this Court for relief. 4.With this liberty to the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
