The petitioner with a grievance that his complaint dated 28.03.2024, for tracing the missing original sale deed vide Document No.2484/1961 dated 11.12.1961 on the file of the Sub-Registrar, Kovilpatti, has not been dealt with by the respondent police, has filed this writ petition.

2.Mr.T.Senthil Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who takes notice for the respondents, submits that a Circular in Rc.No. 2029209/General.1(1)/2022, dated 01.04.2022 has been issued by the Director General of Police, Chennai, prescribing certain guidelines for issuance of a Non Traceable Certificate.

3. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner in the light of the above circular and take a decision within a period of eight 2/4

weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Petitioner is also directed to follow the Procedures as stated in the Circular of the Director General of Police. There shall be no order as to costs. 25.04.2024 Index : Yes/No Internet: Yes/No LS To
