ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.) It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Sobana, aged 22 years went missing from 22.04.2022 and that police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

2.Today, Mr.P.Sekar, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Sakkottai Police Station is present before this Court.

3.On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Sakkottai Police Station Crime No.81/2022 has been registered on 23.04.2022 for 'woman missing' and during the course of investigation, it came to light that Sobana developed friendship with her classmate by name Pandiselvi and together they have left their respective homes and are away. With regard to the missing of Pandiselvi, on the complaint given by her father Kannan, a case in Arimalam Police Station Crime No.69/2022 has been registered on 22.04.2022 for 'woman missing'. Thus, Sakkottai Police and Arimalam Police are in search of Sobana and Pandiselvi. Thus, it is apparent https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

H.C.P.(MD)No.783 of 2022 that Sobana is not in the illegal detention of the respondents herein for issuance of a Writ of Habeas Corpus. Hence, this petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Karaikudi District to supervise the investigation in Sakkottai Police Station Crime No.81/2022 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when Sobana is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi under intimation to the petitioner and the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody.
