This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police not to harass the petitioner and his wife under the guise of enquiry.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that the third respondent lodged a complaint against the petitioner as that the petitioner has swindled his amount to the tune of Rs.40,00,000/-. The complaint was forwarded to the respondent police in the month of November 2023, for which, enquiry is pending. 3.In view of the above submission, this Court is of the view that the respondent police is not supposed to keep a petition enquiry pending for 2/4

more than two weeks. This criminal original petition is allowed with a direction to the respondent police not to harass the petitioner and his family members.
