This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the third respondent to cancel the Patta No. 1304 in favour of the fifth respondent and restore the same in the name of Karuppiah, S/o. Arumugam, in respect of Survey No. 324/2 admeasuring to an extent of 0.7.00 ares at Pilivalam Village, Pilivalam Post, Tirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District and consequently, direct the third respondent to dispose of the inquiry proceedings in Na.Ka.A2/2512/2023 dated 29.04.2023.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the third respondent would conduct and conclude the inquiry after putting the petitioner, the fifth respondent and all other necessary parties on notice and would pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within the time frame stipulated by this Court.
4. In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer to conduct and conclude the inquiry on merits and in accordance with law after providing an opportunity to the petitioner, the fifth respondent and all the necessary parties and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
