Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to remove the erroneous entry in respect of the name of the petitioner on the birth certificate in registration No.1826/08/VIII, dated 12.06.2008 on the file of the respondent by holding enquiry as per Rule 11 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 2000 in accordance with law contemplated under Sec.15 of Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 on the basis of the representation of the petitioner dated 12.08.2014.

Mr.J.Lawrance, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the respondent.

2. It appears that the petitioner has some grievance in respect of an entry made in the Birth Certificate issued by the respondent, which, according to the petitioner, has some erroneous entry. It is also seen that the petitioner has made a representation as early as on 12.08.2014 to the respondent seeking for rectification of the same. Therefore, it is for the respondent to consider the said representation and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law without loss of further time. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of only with a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the

petitioner dated 12.08.2014 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
