The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction to the respondents to grant 30 days ordinary leave to the brother of the petitioner, namely, Muthupandi, who is a convict prisoner No.6283, now confined at Central Prison, Madurai. 2/5

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents states that the request made on behalf of the life convict for ordinary leave being rejected, since he has not completed the mandatory period of three years imprisonment. The rejection order passed on 28.02.2025.

3. In view of the order passed on the representation given by the petitioner, the Writ of Mandamus cannot be issued. However, we grant liberty to the petitioner herein to challenge the rejection order.
