ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to register the power of attorney document that was presented for registration on 18.03.2020 and release the same to the petitioner.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that she had executed a power of attorney document and presented the same for registration before the respondent. However, this document was refused to be registered.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent submitted that the respondent will pass appropriate orders under Section 71 of the Registration Act.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the specific stand taken by the learned counsel appearing for the respondent, there shall be a direction to the respondent either to take a decision with regard to the registration of the power of attorney document or pass orders under Section 71 of the Registration Act, if the respondent is refusing to register the document. This process shall be completed by the respondent within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
