O R D E R

The Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus directing the respondents to appoint the third petitioner, Mrs.K.Jaya Priya Dharshini, as Hereditary Trustee-cum-Poosari, in the place of the first petitioner, Mr.R.Kannan Poosari, in the light of the petitioners' representation, dated 19.02.2026.

2.Upon hearing the learned Counsel on either side and perusing the material records of the case, the grievance of the petitioners is that the first petitioner is presently the Hereditary Trustee-cum-Poosari in respect of the said Temple. Now, he is ailing and therefore, he wants his daughter, the third petitioner, to succeed him. It is stated that there is a scheme framed in respect of the said Temple in O.A.No.160 of 1934 and modified vide O.A.No.9 of 1955.

3.In view thereof, when the application has been made under Section 54(3) HR & CE Act, it is for the second respondent to consider the same in accordance with law, thereby, considering the circumstances as well as the eligibility of the third petitioner with reference to the Hereditary Trustee-cum-Poosari of the Temple and to pass orders thereon in accordance with law. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, in any event not later than six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of the web copy of the order without waiting for the certified copy of the order.
