ORDER

The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the first respondent to remove her name in the ration card bearing No.29/G/0752445 and issue a 'Deletion Certificate' to her.

It is the case of the petitioner that she got divorced from her husband, namely, Jayakumar and consequent upon such divorce, her name cannot be continued in the ration card held by the said Jayakumar. Therefore, she made a representation to the respondents on 09.07.2014 seeking for removal of her name from the ration card for the purpose of applying a new one in her own name. It is stated that the representation is still pending consideration.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, if necessary, after giving due opportunity of hearing to the ration card holder, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
