Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court To issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the 2nd respondent in connection with the impugned notice dated 08.07.2014 in respect of the petitioners building at Door NO. 75 D Bye Pass Road, Madurai and the consequential order of the 2nd respondent dated 09.07.2014 quash the same and direct the respondents to pass an order of assessment in accordance with the provisions of Madurai City Municipal Corporation Act, regarding property tax after holding an enquiry and making an inspection and considering the objections/representations of the petitioner dated 19.05.2014 and 08.07.2014 and pass such further or other orders. ORDER : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.NIRANJAN S.KUMAR, Advocate for the petitioners and of MR.R.MURALI for R1 & R2 the court made the following order:- https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

This Court, by order dated 21.08.2017, directed the petitioner to remit a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakh only) within a period of four weeks and it is now represented that the petitioner was able to remit only Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakh only), due to various financial constraints and hence, the present petition came to be filed, seeking further time of twelve weeks for payment of the balance amount.

2.The learned Standing Counsel seeks time to verify the factum of payment of the said Rs.3,00,000/- by the petitioner. However, he has no objection for granting extension of time to the petitioner, to make the payment, as directed by this Court. 3.Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Municipality.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Miscellaneous Petition is disposed of, granting eight weeks time from today, to the petitioner to remit the remaining amount, failing which, it is open to the respondents to take appropriate action against the petitioner, in the manner known to law. sd/- 19/09/2017 / TRUE COPY / Sub-Assistant Registrar (C.S.)
