Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner dated 22.04.2013 for grant of quarry licence for quarrying gravels at S.No.887/2 of Marungoor Village, Agasteeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner dated 22.04.2013 for grant of quarry licence for quarrying gravels at S.No.887/2 of Marungoor Village, Agasteeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District.

2. Seeking the afore-said prayer, the petitioner has submitted an application to the respondents as early as 22.04.2013 followed by a reminder by way of representation dated 08.03.2015. Since the said representation did not evoke any response, the petitioner has come forward with this writ petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate submitted that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

Considering the limited scope of the matter, without adverting into the merits of the case, the first respondent is

directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 22.04.2013 on merits and in accordance with law and dispose of the same, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to enclose a copy of this order besides the application as well as the representation already sent to the respondents, for further follow up, in this regard. Consequently, this Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
