O R D E R

This petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the Mahila Court, Thanjavur to conclude the trial proceedings in S.C.No.91 of 2023 as expeditiously as possible.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the 1st accused in this case and F.I.R has been registered in the year 2016 and cognizance was taken in the year 2023. Now the case is pending before the Mahila Court, Thanjavur without any commencement of trial. Therefore, he has filed this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the first respondent would submit that based on the complaint lodged by the defacto complainant, they registered a case in Crime No.54 of 2016 and thereafter, they filed the final report in the year 2016 and now the case is pending before the Mahila Court in S.C.No.91 of 2023 and the case is now posted for framing of charges. However, they will cooperate for speedy disposal by producing the witnesses as directed by the trial Court without any delay.

4. Considering the prayer sought for in the petition and the case is also pending from the year 2016, this Court directs the Mahila Court, Thanjavur to complete the trial proceedings in S.C.No.91 of 2023 as early as possible without giving any long adjournments beyond fifteen days by giving top priority to this case.

5. With the above said observation and direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
