Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents not to convert existing classification of water body source viz.,Pudukulam in S.No. 285-1 and S.No.285-2 situate at Nemmakottai Village, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District into Red-sand Quarrying purpose.

[Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU, J] The petitioner has come up with this Public Interest Litigation, seeking a direction to the respondents not to convert the existing classification of water body source, namely, Pudukulam in S.No. 285-1 and S.No.285-2, at Nemmakottai Village in Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District into red-sand quarrying purpose.

2.Today, when this petition was taken up, there was no representation for the petitioner.

3.The learned Special Government Pleader submitted that red sand quarrying was given only for a period of eleven months and the same has already expired. Thus, according to him, nothing survives in this petition and the said statement is recorded. 4.We too feel that the writ petition has become infructuous. Accordingly, the same is dismissed.
