O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide employment to the petitioner under compassionate appointment scheme.

2. The case of the petitioner is that his father was working as Village Administrative Officer and he died on 21.08.2004, while he was in service. On 11.10.2004, the petitioner's mother made an application to the first respondent seeking compassionate appointment for the petitioner. Thereafter, the Tahsildar, Melur by his communication in Na.Ka.No.11966/2007/A1, dated 07.09.2007, called upon the petitioner to appear for enquiry along with the required documents. The petitioner has produced all the required documents before the Tahsildar. However, no order has been passed till date. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the name of the petitioner was fixed at Serial No.71A in the seniority list of 2012, the petitioner has not provided any appointment till date. Hence, he prays for appropriate orders.

4. The learned Standing Counsel for State appearing for the respondents has produced a copy of the order passed by the first respondent in his proceedings in Na.Ka.No.72678/2012/G1, dated 26.11.2012 and submitted that the petitioner's name has been included at Serial No.71A in the seniority list for compassionate appointment and as when the term comes, the petitioner's application will be considered for compassionate appointment, if he is otherwise eligible.

5. Recording the statement made by the learned Standing Counsel for State appearing for the respondents, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
