The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to effect mutation of patta in respect of 0.20.5 Hectares of land comprised in Survey No.74/8 situated at Periyapattinam Village, Keelakarai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District in the light of the judgment and decree, dated 06.06.2001, made in S.A.No. 2301 of 1983. 2.Heard Mr.P.Mohammed Suhail, learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.S.Kameswaran, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents. 2/5
3.The learned Counsel for the petitioner would invite my attention to the orders passed by the second respondent, dated 18.07.2012 as well as the third respondent, dated 08.08.2012 and further orders of the second respondent, dated 25.11.2024, where, the authorities have recommended mutation of patta in the name of the petitioner. 4.However, Mr.C.Kameswaran, learned Government Advocate, would submit that since the lands have been classified as "Arasu Poramboke Vandipathai", it is the District Collector, who is the competent authority, to issue necessary orders disposing the petitioner's request.
5.Considering the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to pass orders on the petitioner's representation based on the report received from the third respondent in Na.Ka.No.A7/12932/2012 dated 08.08.2012. The said exercise shall be carried out within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a 3/5
copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
