O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide permission and adequate protection to conduct Poosai festival ' Arulmigu Maha Mariamman Thirukovil ' festival at Omandhur Village in Krishnarayapuram Taluk, at Karur District from 21.05.2022 to 25.05.2022 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.05.2022 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. There does not appear to be any communal angle. The first respondent is therefore directed to give permission to the petitioner to hold the petition mentioned festival from 21.05.2022 to 25.05.2022. It is open to the first respondent to incorporate appropriate conditions to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD). No.10119 of 2022 The petitioner through his counsel gives an undertaking that the organizers of the festival will adhere to the police directives. The first respondent while issuing the proceedings permitting the holding of the festival shall stipulate appropriate conditions for adhering to Covid-19 protocol.

4. Recording the said undertaking, this writ petition is allowed. No costs.
