O R D E R

This petition is filed seeking quashment of Crime No.82 of 2016 on the file of the first respondent.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that investigation was completed and final report has also been filed and the same is taken on file in C.C.No.208 of 2018 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Melur.

3. Since the investigation was completed and final report has also been filed and the same is taken on file in C.C.No.208 of 2018, the question of quashment of FIR does not arise. The petitioner has to work out his remedy as per law.

4. At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that a direction may be issued to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Melur, to expedite the trial.

5. Considering the oldness of the crime and also considering the nature of offence, there shall be a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Melur, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.208 of 2018 and dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
