Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court To issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondent Nos. 1 to 6 to declare Parakiramapandian Kulam @ Indirakulam and adjacent lands and River beds situated in Raja Pudukudi Village, Veppankulam Village and Therku Mayilodai Village at Kayathar Taluk, Thoothukudi District, which is situated on the river Chittar belongs to Respondent No. 5 and consequently forbearing the Respondents No. 7 and 8 from erecting solar machineries on the Parakiramapandian Kulam @ Indirakulam and adjacent lands to protect Historical Monuments and Archacological sites within the time stipulated by this Honourable Court.

O R D E R

************ (Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.) This Contempt Petition has been filed alleging willful disobedience of the order and direction in W.P[MD].No.10679 of 2020 dated 02.09.2020.

2.The direction given is to consider the representation within ten [10] weeks. The relief sought for by the petitioner was to protect historical monuments and archeological sites. 3.The learned Government Counsel submitted that necessary action is being taken and because the archeological department is also involved, minimum 8 to 10 weeks time is required. 4.In the light of the said submission, we cannot initiate any contempt proceedings in the matter and all that we can observe is that earnest steps should be taken by the respondents to comply with the directions issued in in W.P[MD].No.10679 of 2020 dated 02.09.2020.
