Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to release the petitioner by name Pandiyammal, wife of Kasimaayan, aged about 61 years, now confining at Madurai Special Prison for Women on the basis of the Letter (MS) No.1358 dated 10.11.1994 on completion of 20 years actual imprisonment and on the basis of humanitarian ground by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 17.04.2024 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) The present Writ Petition is filed for a writ of mandamus seeking to direct the respondents to release the petitioner by name Pandiyammal, wife of Kasimaayan, aged about 61 years, now confining at Madurai Special Prison for Women by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 17.04.2024 in accordance with law.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.04.2024 will be considered and suitable orders will be passed within a period of twelve weeks since the petitioner has completed 20 years of actual imprisonment.
3. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, without going into the merits of the matter, we direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.04.2024 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
